Don Kurasch is the founding partner in the firm. He was admitted to practice in Illinois in 1972, following his graduation from the University of Illinois College of Law. He limits his practice to civil litigation, including plaintiff’s personal injury, medical malpractice, corporate litigation, nursing home negligence, auto accidents, premises liability, FELA, products liability, and wrongful discharge.
Don has won many millions of dollars for his clients over the years, including two recently litigated cases resulting in settlements of 7.5 million dollars and 4.8 million dollars. He has been a frequent speaker in the field of injury law over the years. Don has been named to the list of the top 5% of all Illinois’ lawyers every year since the inception of the selection process.
Don has addressed the Chicago Bar Association, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, union groups, and nursing schools. Don has been a guest lecturer in the Chicago Junior College system on the subject of Urban Law. Don was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1977. He has been awarded the title of Advocate by the American Board of Trial Advocates. For many years, Don has been an invited member of the panel of arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyer’s Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, and Illinois State Bar Association. Don received his Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, in 1967. He was born in Oklahoma City, and has lived since childhood in Chicago. Don’s father was a labor union president, which Don credits for his love of fighting tough for the clients he represents.
Daniel A Klein is a partner in the firm. Following graduation from Ohio State University College of Law, Dan was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1990, and the Florida bar in 1994. He practices primarily in plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. His practice includes a wide range of cases including wrongful death, nursing home negligence, auto accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, FELA, products liability, and wrongful discharge. He has tried hundreds of jury cases and arbitrations to successful verdicts. Dan has recovered millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients. Recently litigated results include recoveries of $2.4 million dollars, and 1.65 million in two separate medical malpractice cases.

Dan has served as a Chair qualified arbitrator in the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Florida Bar Association. Dan was born in Dayton, Ohio, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio State University in 1987. Dan credits his success in litigation to his physician father passing down an attention to detail. Dan says his recipe for successful results is summed up like this: "Everyone wants to win. It is not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win, that results in success."
Lisa Weinstein is an experienced trial lawyer who joined Kurasch & Klein in early 2007. Lisa has tried and settled cases in both personal injury and workers compensation, and works on some of the firm's largest cases.
Following her outstanding academic record at the University of Michigan, Lisa graduated Cum Laude from DePaul University College of Law in 2006. She was on the Dean's List during her entire undergraduate and law school careers. Lisa was a law journal editor and author while at DePaul.
Lisa has interned at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois, the Cook County Public Defender's Office, the Legal Assitance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago and the Federal Defender Program. During each internship, Lisa was a tireless and aggressive advocate on behalf of her clients. At Kurasch & Klein, Lisa continues to work passionately and diligently on behalf of individuals and their families who have been the victims of wrongful conduct.
Lisa is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and The Decalogue Society of Lawyers.
